Look Busy at Work

Five fake work screens and a boss key. For when you need a break, but your screen needs to look like a spreadsheet.

📊

Fake spreadsheet

Q3_Budget_FINAL_v7. Type anything and it fills in convincing numbers and formulas.

✉️

Fake email inbox

An inbox full of meetings. Type anything and it writes a very professional reply.

💻

Fake coding screen

Mash any key and real-looking code appears, while a build runs below.

📽️

Fake slide deck

Q4 Strategy Review. Flip slides with the arrow keys and look extremely prepared.

⏳

Fake update screen

A full-screen system update that never quite finishes. 37%… 38%…

⌨️ Your boss key

Press Esc Esc quickly on any ClockOutZone page and you'll jump straight to:

Fake work screens, ready in one click

Each screen is built to pass a quick glance from the doorway: real-looking tab titles, a busy layout, and something that moves. The spreadsheet, inbox and code editor all react when you type, so you can keep your hands on the keyboard.

Fake update screen prank

The fake update screen fills the whole monitor with a system update that inches forward and never finishes. Click once for full screen, then step away. It's a harmless prank too: nothing is installed and nothing changes on the computer. Press Esc twice to get out.

Fake coding screen (a Hacker Typer alternative)

On the fake code editor, mash any keys and believable code appears line by line, while a build log scrolls below. Unlike movie-style hacker screens, it looks like an ordinary day at a software job.

How the boss key works

  1. Pick your screen in the box above. Your choice is saved on this device.
  2. Take your break on any ClockOutZone toy or game.
  3. Footsteps? Press Esc twice, fast. You're instantly back to "work."

Look busy FAQ

How do I look busy at work?
Open one of the fake work screens above and leave it on your monitor. The spreadsheet, inbox and code editor all respond to typing, so it looks like real work even up close.
What is a boss key?
A shortcut that instantly swaps whatever you're doing for something that looks like work. On ClockOutZone, press Esc twice quickly on any page to jump to your chosen fake screen.
How does the fake update screen prank work?
Open the fake update screen, click once to go full screen, and walk away. It looks like a system update that's slowly installing. Press Esc twice to leave. It doesn't change anything on the computer.
Is the fake coding screen like Hacker Typer?
Similar idea: mash any keys and convincing code appears. Ours looks like a modern code editor with a build running, so it passes as normal work rather than a movie hacker scene.
Can my boss tell it's fake?
From across the room, very unlikely. Up close, the tab title and window look like real work files. We still recommend actually doing some work occasionally.

Then take an actual break
